The 1st Year Album

I have decided I want to get this blog a little more interactive. So there's a challenge at the end of this post. Don't worry it's easy.

(the blog line shone in the image was not on the book and is just for web © protection)

This is a 1 year album was done for, you guessed it, Levi. It's a 10x10 album that I made for one of my baby planners that has photos from 6 session. Maternity, newborn, 3, 6, 9, & 12 months. I custom make all the album layouts myself. I sometimes make everything myself including the papers and elements.  It just depends on what I need to get the job done. I often use a digital kit or a combination of kits. I only buy kits with a S4H or commercial license.

When get 5 subscribers I'll show you a few more pages. :)

Pink

In honor of Valentines I thought we should have a pink day, and what better way to start it out then with an old Valentine's card of Maddie's.
She came up with this all on her own when she was 9, she's 13 now, lucky from me she doesn't read my blog. ;)

KISS IT

I photograph a lot of newborns. Babies on scales, babies in hats, babies hanging in cloth. Sure it's all cute, but this is my favorite type of image.

It's the KISS part of the shoot and it's the first part of the shoot that I do with a new baby. New babies don't always cooperate for very long and I want to be sure I get these images before anything else. Why these? Because it's not about the hats, bows and random props. Those propped out images make me smile, might even get an awwwww so cute out of me, but they don't take my breath away. They don't have the power that an image like this simple black and white of a new born daughter in the hands of her father has. An image like this makes me suck in my breath and fills me with emotion. An image like this has power because it's what it's all about. It's the REAL story. A new life, a new love, a new family.

Remember to keep it real and keep it simple, stupid.

KISS it.
